The oblong mirror mocks my reddish cape,
the gray hair lying neatly butchered on it.
The tidy barber, a pudgy guy, now shapes
each inch, or so it seems from where I sit.
The gray hair lying neatly butchered on it
unevenly slips off the cape and blows.
Each inch, or so it seems from where I sit,
around the chair is thick with that odd snow.
Uneven, he slips off my cape and blows
the dryer at my neck and speckled ears.
Around the chair it’s thick with that odd snow
and my head’s its baldest now in years.
The dryer done with my neck and ears,
the tidy barber, a pudgy guy, now spritzes, sprays.
My head its baldest now in years,
the oblong mirror mocks my reddish face.
